I refuse to believe that some people are incapable of creating value or capturing some of that value. It doesn’t matter where you are now, you can create more value and capture some of that value. It isn’t easy. But it isn’t easy for anyone.
I refuse to believe that because somebody comes from nothing that they are doomed to being nothing, that only a few can escape the circumstances of their birth. It doesn’t matter where your are. It matters only that you step onto the path and begin.
I refuse to believe that because someone is working in a menial job that they are incapable of far greater things. There is honor in work, and the lessons learned in low paid work build the capacity to work in more demanding jobs later.
I refuse to believe that because someone doesn’t have a big enough vision of themselves and what they are capable of now doesn’t mean that they won’t find a larger vision, that they won’t discover their purpose, their life’s meaning.
There’s too much evidence to the contrary. Human potential is too great. The fact that we haven’t come close to unleashing this potential doesn’t mean that isn’t there.
