The down payment that success requires of you is personal growth. If you aren’t developing yourself, learning new things, stretching yourself outside of your comfort zone, and becoming the biggest, best version of yourself, you aren’t putting enough down.
Success takes payment in sweat. It demands that you do the work. It insists on regular payments that come in the form of disciplined action in pursuit of what you want. It rejects any offer of payment that comes in the form of shortcuts, as well as any payment that is really an avoidance of toil.
You can’t buy success when you are comfortable. Success requires that you be uncomfortable, that you stretch yourself. Keeping success is going to require continual, never ending payments in this area. Comfort will lull you to sleep where the only success you will have will be in the form of dreams.
Success will also demand payment in time, refusing to give itself over to you until you feed it time. The reason you want success is for the people who mean the most to you. But success will demand that you serve it before all others. Its demands will be met or success will be withheld from you.
Success means different things to different people. For some it’s fame, for others it’s money. For a few it’s freedom, and for many it’s happiness. But whatever your definition, the price will still have to be paid in advance, and it will need to be paid in full. Maintenance payments are also required, and they are due upon receipt.
The sooner you make payments, the sooner you buy your success.
