I want you to know that didn’t forget you and that nothing has happened to me. Today, my focus is elsewhere.
The idea of a New Year’s resolution has never made sense to me. First, most people have caved into their habits by January 11th. Second, promising yourself you will do this one thing or stop doing that thing over the course of the year isn’t thinking big enough or long-term enough, nor is it the right kind of commitment to your life (even if it might be a really good start to stop smoking, stop eating sugar, or stop wasting your time on social media or politics).
As we go barreling headlong into a new decade, I am deciding exactly what that next ten years is going to hold for me (at least as it pertains to the things that are in my control). This is a project I have been consumed with over the last couple months. If you don’t decide what you want, you won’t manifest those things in your life. While I believe there is such a thing as the law of attraction, I don’t believe it works if you don’t work. That means making decisions—and plans.
Years are the milestones that make up a decade. Future You can look back from 2030 and tell you what you need to do between now and that date, a date which will seem like a blink of an eye from today’s date. If you are not creating the life you want for yourself, you are not going to have it. Life is only something that happens to you if you allow it.
If you want to do this work, you can start by answering the questions you will find here.
