It would be better if these words, outcomes really, were reversed. If you could get the end, and then contribute more, without having to do the work required of contribution, as the final two-word pairing is how you will measure success in the end.

You can do something to contribute to the causes you care about now. However, that contribution won’t be the most substantial or most meaningful contribution you might make. So, we start at the beginning . . .

Be more. As far as I have been able to discern, no human being has ever reached their full potential. It might not even be possible. The fact that our brains have more potential neural connections than particles in the Universe seems to point towards a potential that may be limitless. The closer you move towards your full potential, the more you can do.

Do more. If you are capable of more, it naturally follows that you can contribute more. Bigger, bolder, and better outcomes equal a greater contribution, and it’s important to remember that you are only able to do more because you have worked on developing yourself, becoming something more.

Have more. You might believe this means more money, and when you are more and do more, remuneration tends to follow closely behind. That said, money isn’t all that is contained in the words “have more.” You also have a greater capacity to contribute time and other resources, including your network of friends, business associates, and partners. Abundance in any or of all these resources allows for greater contributions.

Contribute more. If there is a sin one may be unaware they are committing, it may be wasting their talent, failing to put forth the effort to reach their full potential. Getting these four ideas in the right order is what build the capacity to contribute more, helping more people, and making a bigger difference.

If you want to contribute more, start becoming someone capable of making a greater contribution.
