Twenty Eight Articles for Sales: 19 – Engage the women

by S. Anthony Iannarino on November 17, 2009

Note: Despite the lack of continuity with the original article, I have removed the part of this article called beware the children. It doesn’t fit well in translating the articles to sales. However, the section on engaging women makes more sense than it should, and it had to be retained. For more on marketing to women, I recommend chapter 13 of Tom PetersRe-Imagine: Business Excellence in a Disruptive Age.

Engage the women. Most people at the highest level of executive management are still men. In marketing campaigns generally, women are mostly ignored. While this changing (too slowly), know that women hold more influence over decision-making and purchasing than men in both households and business. Build your campaign to appeal to women, and build networks that include women. Win the women and you own the market.
